Former first lady Melania Trump plans on releasing her first memoir this fall, entitled Melania. The book is slated to tell “a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence,” according to her office. The book will be published by Skyhorse Publishing and will have two versions, a “Collector’s Edition” signed by the former first lady and a “Memoir Edition.”
The fifty-four-year-old has kept relatively quiet about her time in the White House and life as a whole, and opted not to speak at the RNC, marking a departure from tradition for candidates’ wives. She did appear onstage with her husband at the end of his remarks and watched other speakers from the dais on the final day.
The book will apparently include pictures and stories “never before shared with the public,” perhaps allowing us to gain some insight on the native Slovenian’s life, which remains somewhat of a mystery.
Most of what we know about the former first lady is through other people, such as her former adviser and friend, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. Author of Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, she aired dirty laundry like the tensions between Melania and her stepdaughter Ivanka and her experience working as Melania’s aide, a role she held for seventeen months.
Melania announced the memoir Tuesday on X: “May your experience reading my book be as enjoyable as the writing process for me,” she tweeted along with an image of her book — a simple all-white cover with “Melania” written in all black.
Melania “invites readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life,” the announcement reads, in part.
And all this for the cheap price of $40! The signed copies are $75, and the collector’s edition goes for $150, which includes an autograph, “forty-eight pages of never-before-seen photographs” and promises to be in “full color throughout.”
There is no exact publication date listed on Trump’s site, but delivery on book orders is listed at between twelve and sixteen weeks, which would tie the release around November 5: Election Day. There also seems to be an absence of promotional plans, which is on-brand with Melania’s lack of a very public persona.
