The Sussexes never seem to keep out of the news for too long, and this time they’re back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. It now transpires that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have managed to lose yet another staff member — taking the total to an estimated eighteen since their marriage in 2018, while around nine are thought to have ditched the ex-royals since 2020. Talk about a high turnover…

The renegade royal took on a new chief of staff just three months ago, with Josh Kettler described as the best man to “guide” the Prince “through his next phase.” But, as reported in the Daily Mail this morning, it seems that even ninety days with the couple was too long for the former Patagonia exec. A source from California, where the Montecito monarchs live, told the newspaper that “Josh Kettler is no longer working for them.” How very curious…

While Kettler’s exit remains shrouded in intrigue, another ex-staffer told the Mail that: “What may be most telling is that the entire time I worked there, I don’t think I heard a single current or former employee on their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance.” Ouch. It comes after revelations that Meghan, the Queen of Privacy herself, was unsuccessful in her bid to hire a CEO for her latest venture: lifestyle business American Riviera Orchard. Users spotted the business’s newly-created Instagram account back in March, but it is understood there have been delays over the brand’s trademark application — and the lack of a chief exec will hardly have helped…

The loss of Harry’s short-lived head of staff comes as the dilettante Duke and Duchess stage their four-day tour of Colombia, after being invited by the country’s vice president. There are concerns about the trip — with former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole suggesting “there is a danger of their celebrity and willingness to help underprivileged people is being undermined by a certain naivety” — and it is understood the couple are not receiving advice from the UK Foreign Office. The British representative at the United Nations only last month stated that they “remain concerned about persistent levels of violence and threats” in some parts of the country. It’s quite the choice for Harry to decide to go — given the precious Prince believes that the, um, UK isn’t safe enough for his family. It’s not like the pair to lack consistency, eh?
